Calvin Albert lived on the East End for many years. He served as professor of art at Pratt Institute in NYC and is the author of FIGURE DRAWING COMES TO LIFE. His drawings and sculpture are represented in numerous public collections including the Art Institute of Chicago\, the Jewish Museum\, the Heckscher Museum\, and the Museum of Modern Art\, NYC.
The artists large charcoal drawings and sculpture take inspiration from the human form\, architecture\, and landscape. The works are abstract\, revealing only essential elements of each motif. The sculpture\, in bronze\, pewter\, and various alloys often combines figuration with architectonic form.
