 <p>The Laramie Project is Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project's theatrical reaction to the 1998 murder of University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard in Laramie\, Wyoming. The murder is widely considered to be a hate crime motivated by homophobia.</p>
 <p>The play draws on hundreds of interviews conducted by the theatre company with inhabitants of the town\, company members' own journal entries and published news reports\, data and documentation. It is divided into three acts\, and an ensemble of actors portrays more than sixty characters in a series of momentary scenes and monologues.</p>

DESCRIPTION:<p>In a two-lecture series\, Prentiss Dunn\, Music Professor at Webster University\, Vienna\, Austria and frequent guest lecturer in the Hamptons\, explores the evolution of Giuseppe Verdi's dramatic and musical genius in two sublime but very different works.</p>
 <p>Using Franco Zeffirelli's highly-acclaimed film versions of both \\"La Traviata\\" and \\"Othello' and his own analytic and pianistic skills\, Mr Dunn leads us in an entertaining and informative exploration into the mind and methods of one of operas greatest creators.</p>

SUMMARY:“Above the Guinea Sea”
DESCRIPTION:<p>This exciting quartet features West African inspired music and is lead by drummer\, percussionist\, and composer Henning Stumm.  Stumm has toured Europe\, Japan\, The Caribbean\, Central America and the United States\, and has worked with artists from genres including Jazz\, R&amp\;B\, Neo-Soul\, Rap\, West African\, Pop\, Haitian and Afro-Cuban music.<br />
 The name of this ensemble is a reference to the African based religion found on various Caribbean islands and the Louisiana Gulf Coast. The religion stems from the belief that ancestral spirits live in the ocean between the West African nation of Guinea and America because of the slaves who lost their lives during the slave trade.</p>

DESCRIPTION:<p>Award winning jazz saxophonist and Tierra Records recording artist Shenole Latimer takes his audience on a multimedia tour of the history of jazz from the early 1900's to today. Along the way\, a number of jazz artists and their struggles are explored\, including Louis Armstrong\, Miles Davis\, Charlie Parker\, and John Coltrane. An emphasis is placed on visiting the African American roots of jazz\, how jazz reflected the cultural phases that African Americans were experiencing through out the decades of the 20th century\, and the cultural and sociological impact that jazz made in the United States and even the world. Learn why jazz has been called\, \\"America's Classical Music\\".</p>
